Palawan Group Strengthens Ties with Ilonggos as Sponsor of Dinagyang Festival 2026

The Palawan Group of Companies joined the Ilonggo community in celebrating Dinagyang Festival 2026 as a Sponsor, highlighting the strategic importance of the Visayas region, particularly Iloilo, as a key growth market for the brand. Deeply rooted in devotion, identity, and collective pride, Dinagyang brought together Ilonggo families, workers, entrepreneurs, and balikbayans from across the country and overseas. The festival served as a meaningful platform for the Palawan Group of Companies to deepen its long-standing partnership with the region and reinforce its role as a trusted and accessible financial lifeline for Ilonggos.

As part of its Dinagyang 2026 activities, the Palawan Group mounted on-ground activations that enabled closer engagement with the public while enhancing the overall festival experience. Among the highlights was the Golden Caravan, an exclusive jewelry-selling event held from January 22 to 25, 2026, along Bonifacio Drive. The event featured curated jewelry selections, interactive activities, and exciting prizes for festivalgoers.

The company also participated in the Dinagyang Festival Float on January 23, which featured floral elements and animal figures surrounding an image of Señor Sto. Niño. The float earned First Runner Up at the Dinagyang Festival 2026 Parade of Lights, marking Palawan Group’s fourth consecutive year of recognition in the competition. A Dinagyang participant since 2007, the company’s continued presence reflects a long-standing show of support, pride, and unity with the Ilonggo community.

“Dinagyang has always been a celebration of faith, unity, and resilience, values that deeply resonate with who we are as a company. Our participation in the festival reflected our genuine partnership with the Ilonggo community and demonstrated Palawan Group’s role as a reliable kasangga that Ilonggos can count on for their daily financial needs and future aspirations,” said Karlo M. Castro, President and CEO of the Palawan Group.

In line with the festivities, the Palawan Group rolled out localized Dinagyang promos at its branches and on PalawanPay. These included libreng interest on sangla, discounts on select rematado jewelry items, and ProtekTODO micro-insurance options designed to provide practical financial protection beyond the festival season. Select PalawanPay users also received vouchers to encourage faster, safer, and more convenient cashless transactions.

“What keeps the Palawan Group close to our customers is our ability to grow with them. As we introduce new services, we ensure they are grounded in how VisMin communities actually use and experience Palawan products. The continued support and advocacy we see from Ilonggos and VisMin sukis affirm that these services genuinely respond to their needs,” expressed Bernard V. Kaibigan, Chief Marketing Officer of the Palawan Group.

This year marked the Palawan Group’s 19th year of participation in the Dinagyang Festival, having consistently supported the celebration since 2007. The company’s long-standing presence reflects its deep roots in the province, where Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala operates 113 branches across Iloilo and 8 branches in Guimaras, supported by almost 700 associates in Iloilo who deliver serbisyong may malasakit to local communities every day.

Through its active participation in the Dinagyang Festival 2026, the Palawan Group celebrated Ilonggo culture and tradition while reaffirming its commitment to providing accessible and reliable financial services across the region. By bringing together community engagement and essential financial solutions, the company ensured that support remained readily available to Ilonggos, whether they were celebrating with family, managing small businesses, sending money to loved ones, or planning for the future, both during and beyond the festival.
